Membership Conditions

1.  Payment
Payment of this membership may be made via Cash, Cheque, Credit Card or EFTPOS.

2.  Cooling-Off Period
This contract of membership can be voided within 48 hours of joining.  All Terms and Conditions of Membership are binding after this 48 hour period.

3.  Cancellation
All Memberships are refundable within 48 hours of your joining date and time.  Termination within this period will incur an administration fee to the lesser amount of $75 or 10% of the membership fee, plus the cost of any services or use of facility that have been provided. After this time, memberships will incur a termination fee equal to the balance of the agreement.

In the event of permanent disability or sickness refunds will be granted where:

  • A letter from a medical practitioner detailing the disability or sickness is provided
  • An administration fee to the lesser amount of $75 or 10% of the membership fee plus the cost of any services or use of facility that have been provided has been deducted from the refund

A Customer Request Form must be completed when cancelling.  We do not except email cancellations.

4.  Suspension
Membership suspensions will only be permitted for annual leave, parental leave and temporary work transfer. Maximum periods apply, as per YMCA of Brisbane policies.

Suspension requests must be made in advance on a Customer Request Form. A $10 admin fee is to be paid on completing this form.

Extensions will also be permitted for sickness / injury on presentation of a medical certificate.

5.  Changes to membership
To ensure accuracy of records, all changes to memberships, including applications for suspension, must be made and signed in person at the facility on a Customer Request Form.

6.  Payment of rejected debits / Credits (Direct debit members only
When the bank rejects a debit or credit, an alternative payment must be made. These rejected payments remain due and payable. An administration / bank fee of $5 will be passed on to you for the additional processing of your membership.

7.  Other

  • All memberships include aerobics, weight training, fitness assessments and exercise programs unless specified.
  • Membership cards must be presented before entering any program / class.
  • Members are required to wear suitable clothing in the gym including enclosed footwear.
  • Towels are to be used on all equipment.
  • For their own safety, children are not allowed into the aerobic or weights area.
  • Members or applicants for membership may be required to provide a certificate from a registered medical practitioner prior to being granted permission to use or participate in any exercise program.
  • YMCA of Brisbane will not be held responsible for the loss or theft of any member’s personal property whilst on the premises.

Management reserves the right to refuse entry to any member dressed inappropriately or acting in an offensive manner.
