Acacia Ridge Pool Opening Update

YMCA Acacia Ridge Leisure Centre is considering its winter programs to align with Stage 3 of the State Government’s roadmap to easing restrictions, which are planned for 13th July.

“We are working with Brisbane City Council and QLD Aquatic Industry Alliance to ensure the pool will be operating safely with the new COVID–19 Safety Plan and we will open as soon as possible,” Manager Darren Lee said.

“Due to heavy restrictions placed upon the facility, unfortunately the pool will not open during Stage 2.”

“While we remain closed, our team is very busy preparing the pool for reopening, ensuring comprehensive hygiene measures are in place and training a few eager new staff members.”

The YMCA is committed to ensuring all important measures are put in place to ensure everyone's safety, and that we meet the Government guidelines via a COVID Safety Plan.

The Y provides a safe environment and experienced instructors to help you or your child have fun, grow, learn new skills and take their swimming to the next level.

Swimming Programs are offered to children from 4 months of age through to adults and swimmers with special needs and provide a unique opportunity for children to develop their skills (physical, intellectual and personal) in a progressively challenging environment.

Our Austswim qualified instructors will focus on your child's individual ability and encourage fun through games, instruction and social interaction. Our teachers will help students improve their individual abilities by encouraging them to progress at their pace.

Programs are offered as a 10-week term of lessons following state school term dates or in school holiday blocks. Program dates do vary, so please contact our friendly staff to be informed of the programs and registration dates.

The YMCA is committed to extending opportunities to everybody no matter what goals and abilities you have. We link with schools, community groups and local government bodies to promote and increase more opportunities for our community.

Our qualified and experienced Special Needs Swimming Instructors teach adults and children with disabilities to swim and exercise in the water.

The YMCA Swimathon is the main fundraising event of the year for people with disabilities. The efforts of the community of Acacia Ridge has allowed for the purchase of a new Pool Hoist Wet Wheelchair valued at $3427.50
